Have I done anything socially unacceptable in this situation I’ll explain below?

Long story very short- I recently ran into an old high school friend I hadn’t seen in well over decade at a public event. We started catching up there but didn’t have much time to continue talking. So we took it to facebook. After a couple days he said he was leaving Facebook and that I should add him on Instagram. So I did. Almost immediately I started seeing my other old classmates as follow suggestions. I added a few of them, just the ones I was cool with back in the day. It’s been a couple days and no one responded to the requests. I’m not sad or anything, I just feel anxious about it. Did I severely break any sort of social code by doing this? I knew all of them well. I didn’t add the ones I barely said a word to
