Am I wrong for telling my fiancée I won’t be okay with my sister being excluded from her bachelorette party?

My fiancée (26F) and I (26M) are getting married in a few months, and she’s been planning her bachelorette party. I’ve stayed out of it, but one thing I’ve been clear on is that I want my sister (24F) to be part of it, the whole thing, not just a dinner or one event.

I’m extremely close with my sister. We’ve been through a lot together, and she’s basically my best friend. She’s one of the most important people in my life, and I want her to be fully included in everything surrounding the wedding, including the bachelorette party. To me, that’s not just a night out for the bride and her friends, it’s part of the overall celebration, and my sister is a big part of my life.

My fiancée pushed back. She said she likes my sister and respects her, but they aren’t close. Her exact words were that my sister is “a little too quiet” and doesn’t really mesh with the dynamic of her group, she’s worried that having my sister there would change the vibe, make things feel more restrained or awkward. She wants a laid-back, high-energy night with her girls and says that including someone she doesn’t feel totally relaxed around would take away from that.

I told her I understand where she’s coming from, but I’m not backing down. I’m not asking her to build a lifelong bond with my sister or make her the center of attention, I’m asking for her to include someone who means a lot to me, and who has already felt pretty sidelined during some parts of this process.

My sister found out she wasn’t going to be invited and she was really hurt. She didn’t get angry or dramatic, but she did cry, and it honestly broke my heart a little. She’s been looking forward to being part of the wedding fun, and now she feels excluded, again.

I told my fiancée that this matters to me and I’m not just going to let it go. It’s not about control, it’s about making sure someone important to me isn’t being left out for reasons I don’t fully agree with.

Am I wrong for standing my ground on this?
