Help! Nose Contour Tip Always Looks Round - How Do MUA’s Get It So Defined? (Pics + Product Tests)
Hey! I’m struggling to get my nose tip looking as sharp & slim as the pros do in tutorials & makeup artist do. The bridge contour usually looks okay, but the tip just ends up looking rounder or bigger than I want. Here’s my inspo for what I’m aiming for:
🔗 Inspo pic This is my nose sculpted by a makeup artist.
My usual contour:
I used to do bronzer only, there I used Persona Dune bronzing stick + NARS Laguna powder:
🔗 Old contour 1
🔗 Old contour 2 (V-shaped bridge)
Still not sure if the straight bridge lines or V bridge looks better on me.
Trying new stuff:
To get a sharper tip, I picked up some cool-toned liquid and powder contours to compare. Here are the liquids I tried:
- KVD Fair Cool 90 - I feel like it might be too light? or is it right?
- Sheglam Soft Tan (cool-toned) - does this look better? 🔗 KVD liquid 1🔗 KVD liquid 2 🔗 Sheglam liquid
Questions:
- Does the horizontal line above my tip look right? Like the placement & width of it, or shall I do without that line? (I did not do it on my bronzer look nor on the last powder look yet I did on the rest)
- How's the V shape under my tip, is that working or should it be moved up/down?
- Are these cool-toned products better than bronzer for my nose?
- Should I focus on liquid, powder, or a combo for tip definition?
Below I show you my process using different products and trying variations of nose contour, my attempt at finding what works best. I'd like your feedback. It's mostly a few pics to look at and compare to figure this out.
My first try with Sheglam + powder:

My problem: seems at first the V under my tip ended up too wide and above my nostrils. Narrowing it a lot seems to be helping.
Powders I used:
Here I tested: L.A. Girl Just Blushing Just Because (Cool Powder)

Here I tested: Nyce Makeup Cool Powder in Grey Brown
🔗 Blended with highlight

🔗 View with mirror light off
Both powders gave different looks and textures. The L.A. Girl sometimes felt a bit harsh or dark, not sure if it’s the shade or my technique. The Nyce powder looks softer in my opinion, but I’m open to your thoughts!
2nd try with both: Sheglam liquid + LA Girl powder:

Final Questions:
- Which contour color works best for my skin? Any of these work?
- What’s definitely not working?
- How can I get that sculpted, lifted tip like my inspo?
- Should I ditch some products or keep experimenting?
Thanks so much! I’ve been stuck on this for a while & would love any tips or tricks
