Reworded post due to misunderstanding
Hi everyone,
I’m interested in joining the Navy, but I’m unsure how a past situation might affect my eligibility. I was once prescribed Zoloft and Buspar after a two-day inpatient stay. This happened because I unknowingly smoked weed that had been laced with something. It caused me to feel and act differently, which led to the hospital visit for observation.
I want to be clear—I’m NOT suicidal or UNSTABLE. I’ve always been calm and level-headed, and I haven’t taken the medication since. The prescription was more of a precaution following that incident and I have a follow up appointment Wednesday with the doctor.
Would this kind of history disqualify me from joining the Navy even with a waiver? I’d really appreciate any insight from those familiar with the process or who’ve seen similar cases.
Thanks in advance for your help
