Merit Aid Appeal not responded to for 3 weeks / received no money as a twin
Hi everyone, an incoming Syracuse freshman student here who ED'd here. Tricky part is I also have a twin brother going to another institution with a tuition upwards of $80K, full pay. I received nearly nothing from Syracuse in terms of financial aid. I appealed for need-based aid but was denied, and put in a merit appeal over three weeks ago explaining my circumstances but have not received a response. I contacted my admissions rep a week ago, who said I would be receiving a response shortly but have not received one yet. As it currently stands, my parents will be paying over $170k per year for both me and my brother. This is obviously a exorbitant amount of money, and any type of extra aid would help, no matter the cost. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next? Should I wait or email the financial aid office? Am I just forced to accept that I can't or won't be getting anymore financial aid? It also is extremely frustrating as I have read multiple posts that Syracuse is giving tens of thousands of dollars in merit aid to students who have not committed by May 1st, while as an ED applicant with a twin brother, received nearly nothing. I just want more peace that my parents will be able to pay off me and my brothers education. Thanks!
