Is the 6 speed transmission in the 2014 AWD is350 the same one that’s in the 2is gen RWD is350’s?

Someone mentioned that the main reason why 2is is350’s were quicker to 60 than the 3is’s was that the gear ratio in the 6-speed transmission was more aggressive than the 8-speed tranny. Someone else mentioned that the 8 speed tranny is “way better” than the 6-speed in the 3is. Are these the same 6-speeds or different? And is one actually better or worse than the other?
