I feel like nothing has worked for my yeast infection and it's driving me nuts.
Hi, I have struggled with hoo-ha problems for a little while now. A few years ago I struggled with having bv and yeast for a few months, has meds and over the counter fluconazole and gynecology help (they basically just gave me more fluconazole and didn't help much) and after I learned about the lovely boric acid, after using it for only a few days, it immediately cleared it.
Fast forward a couple years later, I end up getting a yeast infection again (likely after not being consistent enough with my hygiene after sexy time) and I immediately reached for the boric acid this time...except it didn't solving the problem. Immediately grabbing it this time might not have been the best idea, but all of my doctors have just prescribed me fluconazole after fluconazole tablet thinking it'll stave it off yet at this point, I feel like it does nothing (at least not in tablet form). It hasn't been nearly as severe as my first infection at least (I had so much itching and burning it sucked) but now, it's like a constant low grade irritation, and mostly just burning during intercourse making sex feel impossible (and not safe for my partner). Since November of last year, I have tried boric acid, many types of probiotic suppositories, chugging yogurt, using other types of oral probiotics, and anything that balances ph. Nothing seems to work, and since summer has rolled around, I feel symptoms have been slightly worse due to humidity.
My last ditch effort has been trying to go on the candida diet, but there is so much variation on what is acceptable. It feels really strict and stressful to follow and make food, and most of them say to only really do them along with the help of antifungals. I don't even know if the dieting is even helping (granted it has only been 5 days) but I just feel at a loss and confused as to what I should do next or what I could have been doing wrong.
Any advice from people who felt they tried everything and nothing worked?
