Early Act 2 Verso? I’m confused

I just unlocked Verso and tried to make a build around Gaulteram

After a few fights I feel like my build is not great and I don’t really know how to play him.

I want to use him just because it seems fun but I think I chose the wrong skills?

Any advice on early rotation / synergy with Maelle + Sciel or Maelle + Lune?
