Increased levels not levelling

Can't really explain it nor can I show it but I know this happened to a friend day 1 before an auto fix. But its now happened to me. Got on the game tonight at level 40 and played a few games running through quests which bumped me to 43/44 but when exiting the game to the lobby I was still level 40. The quests have finished so I can't get the exp back and restarting the game didn't do anything. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it something that the devs are looking into?
