Guys are rude to me, why?

this is a little bit of a rant

I’ve put a lot of patience in when it comes to trying to find guy friends (and boyfriends), but i’m not having good luck, it’s been this way since i was a kid. i’ve tried many different men and many different approaches.

for example, I was at an local music event early last month when I saw a group of four guys chatting around one of the booths that were handing out water bottles, one of them was wearing a Wolfenstein shirt and I love wolfenstein! i approached them lone and complimented his shirt

he didn’t react much, he said an awkward thank you, which I was hoping was just him being shy. one of the guys he was talking to chatted me up and tried to include me in their conversation (which was about the bands playing)

that one dude seemed to love my company (rare) but the guy i complimented and the others looked and acted bothered that i joined their conversation, they started getting snappy and hateful, any time I said something, they’d find a way to make me sound dumb as a group. and insult or ridicule what i said.

it goes the same way online too. for a period i thought ‘if guys in public won’t talk to me, what about online?’ and it’s only worse. they do the dog piling, once one insults you, the rest has to get in and they won’t ever take you serious or listen when you have something to say in conversation.
