Any Churches in the area that aren’t phony mega-churches or something you have to pay to become a member of?

I’m new to the faith and I’m scared off by these mega churches like Bayside and Destiny not to mention I’ve heard some bad things about them. I just want to praise the Lord without putting money into some rich guys pocket!
