(37F) and (38M) want to marry ASAP
I just recently met someone new, he seems to be a nice young man from Europe. It was love at first sight. I would love to marry him as soon as possible and we talked about it but I found out, he had a girlfriend in his home country that got knocked up and left but there's a lot of problems in their relationship, and he doesn't want to marry her because they don't know who the biological father is.
The girlfriend wants him to pay for her child. I was surprised to discover this but I think he really needs legal advice with this.
They were together for several years. He was just with her for the benefits or so I am told.
The rumor is she got pregnant but there's concerns about who the biological father really is and infidelity. My theory is she wants to baby trap him, knowing he had no interest in ever marrying her.
Everyone makes mistakes but it seems if a guy has no interest in marrying you, why stay in the relationship? You cannot force a man to marry you.
It seems this lack of common sense is causing a single parent epidemic. If you move in with your boyfriend, you're expected to perform as a "wife" but the truth is you are not legally married. The result is you'll eventually be a single mother because he'll leave one day.
Obviously this is his problem and not mine. I don't know how long these problems have been ongoing. However I feel like this is a common problem. Why didn't he leave sooner if he had no intention on marriage? Do you really want to pay for a woman and her children you have no intent on ever marrying her?
TL;DR; : I feel like this guy is being socially pressured to marry his ex-girlfriend by friends and family in his home country that do not have his best interests at heart, the woman he isn't really interested in anymore because he has quite frankly outgrown her.
She has cheated on him. It's over.
He wants to move on but she cannot accept it and she is trying to force him to marry her. He is smart guy, but why should he pay for someone's else problems if the child is not his biological baby?
Something doesn't add up. Peer pressure to marry someone you do not love anymore seems totally crazy, if the other party doesn't want marry you at all and if the child is not your biological baby, it seems to be unfair.
Paternity DNA tests usually require a court order or consent by both parties.
He seems really upset about it. What should I do?
