Dust filter seal broken. Are they still waterproof?

I had to remove the little dust filter on my IPX8 TOZO NC9 earbuds, to fix an issue. I put it back on with school glue, but I'm wondering if they still are waterproof. It seems confusing to me that the dust filter would block out water since it's just a little cloth which has a weak seal. Does that mean the internals are waterproof? I'm unsure.
