Night shift
Honestly, night shift pays the best I’ve ever been paid — like, I’m finally making decent money. But it’s starting to feel like it’s just not worth it anymore.
Yeah, the money’s great, but what’s the point when I don’t even have time or energy to enjoy it? I sleep during the day, I’m exhausted when I wake up, I barely function before work, and on my days off I’m either a zombie or trying to reset my sleep just to wreck it again the next night.
I feel so out of sync with everything and everyone. I miss daylight. I miss feeling like a normal human being. I can’t plan anything, I flake on people constantly, and even the smallest tasks feel like a mission. My body’s run down, my brain’s foggy 24/7, and I’m sick of waking up to 10 missed calls and texts from people who don’t get that I’m literally asleep when they’re living their lives.
It’s weird — I’ve never made this much money, but I’ve also never felt so drained. What’s the point of being paid well if you feel like crap all the time?
