Warning: Markus Darien Thersio in Rio de Janeiro! Ruined my immigration case! Refused to give me emails sent in my name

Hey everyone,
I normally wouldn’t post this, but I feel like I have to warn others.

My name’s Adam, I’m from Denmark, and I hired this guy in Brazil, Markus Darien Thersio to help me with a residency process after my daughter was born there.

He runs a company called Thersio Consultoria Ltda. Said he had done this before. Said he would handle everything.

But what really happened shocked me. He started contacting my child’s mother and her lawyer directly. He acted like he was my lawyer. I never gave him permission to do that.
I didn’t even know it was happening at first.

He talked to them in my name. Made things worse. I believe this escalated the situation in a really bad way  I was sued shortly after. And when I asked him to send me the emails and messages he sent while pretending to be my representative! He refused. For months.

To this day I still haven’t seen those messages.
He blocked me. Avoided me. Just ignored all my requests.

And yes, I paid him — over $1,800 USD.
I have all the receipts. He still didn’t do what I hired him to do.

I’ve now filed an official complaint with the Civil Police in Rio de Janeiro. And I’ve submitted a report to the OAB (the Bar Association) because he’s not even a registered lawyer.

 
I’m posting this to warn others:
If you are working with Markus Darien Thersio or thinking about it — be very careful.
Make sure you ask for everything in writing.
Make sure he’s really allowed to do what he says he will.
And if anything feels weird, trust your gut.
