Why did action movies in the 50s, 60s, and 70s have such cheesy scenes despite tens of thousands of combat veterans available to consult?
I was watching A Fistful of Dollars (1964) the other day and was struck by how unrealistically death, injury, and combat were portrayed. There were tens or hundreds of thousands of Ww2 and Korea vets to tap for experiences — why not use them?
