Snapper Mower with Briggs and Stratton 441577-0113 blew connecting rods. Repair not worth it?

I have a very sad event happen a couple weeks ago, my enduring Snapper finally died. The oil plug screw failed and leaked oil. We didn't notice and idled the mower for about 5 minutes and it went clunk and stopped. No compression and flywheel spun freely.

Followed some videos and ended up completely removing the engine and taking the crankcase apart. Shards of aluminum were in the bottom and it was obvious that the connecting rods blew. Everything else seems to be in reasonable shape.

Is replacing the connecting rods not really something worth doing? I've never done it. Is there likely additional damage? The crankshaft has some of the melted aluminum on it, so it would obviously have to be refinished. I am assuming It's done for, but I wanted to ask before I gave up and move on to the next stage of grief.
