Weird Whatsapp Privacy Settings

Sorry if the post is long, just pointing out everything for better clarity.

Me and my close friend (let's call him A), have a mutual friend (let's call him D), and we have several mutual Whatsapp groups (all three of us).
Now neither have I and A, saved D's contact nor D has saved ours (I suppose D might have my contact, he might have saved, might not have saved, just an assumption).
Whenever I view D from my mobile/PC device, I can clearly see his dp but his about me is not visible to me.
Simultaneously, when I viewed D's account from A's device and A's whatsapp account, his dp is not visible but his about me is visible.

There's also another case where this happened, quite opposite indeed.
Another person (let's call her H), me, A and H share the same mutual groups.
When I view H from my device and my account, her dp is not visible but it is visible when A views her profile from his device and his account. Also here, neither of me and A has saved H's contact nor H has saved us.

Is it the privacy settings? If yes, then why does it work different for different people?
