Proper Courtesy when Playing with New/Lower Skilled Golfers.
My buddy and I got paired up with another twosome at our local course yesterday afternoon. We had a cart, and they were walking which to us is not a big deal. We’re all paying to play after all.
The problem though arises in the ultimate pace of play with these two guys. They were new to the game and not particularly high skilled nor aware. They eft their clubs/bag in bad spots around the green, forgot clubs on greens, were not ready to tee-off when on the box, walked with each other to each others shots as opposed to their own balls respectively, didn’t take their putter with them when walking up to the green for a chip which then necessitated another trip to the bag, etc.
They were nice guys, don’t get me wrong and I could tell they wanted to do things the right way as it related to rules and such. My question is this though. What is the proper way to share with someone “golf awareness” and should we as faster/more experienced golfers have said anything at all? We ultimately didn’t because we didn’t want to come off like assholes, but I’m curious to others thoughts.
