Will I go to hell if I had premarital sex?
I'm 23 years old and lost my virginity to my boyfriend who was also a virgin and who I do hope to marry one day. Tbh our main incentive was curiosity rather than lust (although ofc there was lust involved) but as anyone's first time it was sloppy and didn't really leave either of us "longing for more". I do feel somewhat guilty about it which has led me to wonder, are the biblical rules regarding sex absolute or do you think it's more about the essence of the rules and in what context you apply them? I mean in Jesus' time there was no contraception so having sex meant you'd likely have kids, and people married very young. In that case sure it's more than logic that you'd only have sex once you're married. Nowadays though there's birth control and people marry as late as their 30s. In that case do you think it's still wrong to have sex even if it's in the context of a relationship of 2 adults who love each other? I mean it's not like I got Tinder and had a one night stand, and it's not like we had sex in the heat of the moment (we planned it out and discussed it), or as teenagers the moment puberty hit. In my opinion that behavior IS certainly against God's principles. For these reasons I don't like to think I committed a great sin although sure it is a sin and I've gone to church and asked for forgiveness.
I'm also wondering what to do moving forward. I'm considering telling my bf that I only want to have sex again once we're married. I don't think that would be a problem bc we both live at home so we don't have the chance to have sex often, and we can do other stuff. I'm actually more horny than my bf which is partly bc I have PCOS. Would that make it up to some extent do you think?
