One month sober
Writing this so I can look back and hold myself accountable when the itch strikes again. I managed to quit for a month back in January this year but I relapsed. Fell into the trap of thinking ‘Damn! This wasn’t so hard after all… Maybe I can go back to once a week like I used to.’ I started smoking every day again after one week.
I treated myself to a day out yesterday to celebrate. I haven’t gone that far from my home in the past several weeks due to an injury, so it was a dual purpose celebration since I’ve made some good progress in recovery as well. I went on a drive to a beach I’ve never visited before and hung out for a few hours. It felt really good to go exploring and be out in nature again! It was also a good reminder that having a good time is NOT dependent on weed, feeling peace in life’s chaos is not dependent on weed. Peace and happiness can come in many forms and (for me) are so much better when they aren’t obscured by a smoky haze.
