Math Behind reports?

How exactly does the math work in this game lol. I dont seem to understand the reports.

I face a player with almost but not entirely double my stats after he used all buffs. I have more than 4 times his troop deployment capacity though.

Basic math

4x more troops (4), times 0.5 ( half his stats) is more than his troops(1x) times double my stats x2

if it was done that way, i should have won easily but i lost with him having almost half his troops still left.. how does it work does anyone know?
