The writers made the team highly skeptical at times
I am a first watcher of Stargate SG1. I did watch a few episodes of SGA when I was 14yo as a friend introduced me to the series (without any contexts) but I left to study in a different city a few months later and did not have cable.
Something I have noticed is that the team tends to be quite skeptical even to stuff they have experienced before. for example, someone from SG1 says they are seeing someone or a creature that others can't see, and they think that person is crazy or delussional, even though they have gone through the same several times already, like that guy who inserted a little machine on their brains in order to learn from their experiences and they were seeing a copy of that person that others could not see, or when Daniel was locked in a psyquiatric ward because he was able to see something others did not (I can't remember what it was), Carter had that ascended guy who fell in love with her and nobody else could see as he turned invisible, and so on. In season 6, Jonas sees some kind of bug (I think it was similar to the one that once stung Teal'c and almost used him as a egg incubator) and people are questioning that he mentions it went through a wall. They have seen that before, like in the episode where they take Hailey to another planet and they are attached by little energy life beings that could go through matter.
I wished they would at least make the characters "learn" from those past experiences.
