should i tell my work that im quitting or ghost them?

just before anybody gets mad, i have ALWAYS put my 2 week notice in, except one workplace due to injuries, but the place i work at now (i dont want to disclose what workplace) has had certain instances where they have let go of individuals the day they put their two weeks in. unfortunately i cannot afford to not work those two weeks if i get booted. although i do have a certain manager who has been very kind and i would feel guilty screwing them over specifically. should i at least tell that manager on the day that im leaving that im quitting and wont be back or should i just ghost them? again i would put my two weeks in if i was 100% certain that i wouldnt just be let go, but unfortunately i cannot afford to risk that chance.
