How did you find your clinical job?
Hey Everybody!
I'm a non-traditional premed who decided to commit to medicine in my junior year of college. I just graduated with a Psychology degree, and I've started to look for a clinical job in my hometown. So far, I've run into a couple of issues. For one, every job seems to require some sort of training beforehand (example, EMT, MA, RBT).
So I wanted to come on here to get some advice. How did you find your clinical job? What were the main factors you were looking for in a job? Are there any types of jobs I should avoid? Do you think it's necessary for me to become EMT certified? It looks like it'll cost me around $2000, and I'd end up being paid about minimum wage. I've also heard about ER tech, but it seems extremely competitive, and my hometown doesn't seem to have many opportunities (or I just don't have the connections).
Because I have very little clinical experience so far, I was hoping to find a job where I could really make an impact and help people.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
