Rosaura's Questline Really Stuck With Me

SpoilerDiscussion

There's so much sadness in the dlc but the bittersweet nature of Rosaura's ending just really got to me. To the point where I googled if there was some way to save her, jumpstart her with some ergo, give her a proper burial or at the very VERY least display her full treasure in the hotel and let it stay there regardless of your ng+ level. Just leaving her at the tree made me pretty god damn peeved.

Maybe it's because Rosaura's basically a small child, an innocent in every sense of the word yet she's hellbent on meeting her dear Carlo again. Just the thought of this small puppet traveling through the hellscape that is Krat for years with only the butterflies guiding her just messed me up.

The white butterflies that guide Rosaura have to be Carlo's right? I first thought they were Lea's thing but with Rosaura being part of Carlo's life before he moved to the charity house I imagine she'd have little reason for her desperate wish to be for Carlo and Rosaura to reunite again.

Saw a comment somewhere discussing the white butterflies that it could be Carlo's ergo inside the nameless puppet at the time that wished to reunite with his family. His entire family. With Camille, his mom being a listener I don't see why Carlo couldn't also be a listener.

So yeah, I've just been digesting the info, the questline etc and I just feel a bit sad. Glad that they reunited, want a bit more from the questline though. We don't even need to revive her, maybe do a nod to Snow White and let her rest in a glass coffin inside the hotel or something.

11/10 questline
