My experience upgrading to 2Gb

Overall, it went smoothly.

Replaced my C5500XK fiber modem with a Q1000K, swapped my four Q9500 360 pods for a single W1700K wifi7 pod (with a promise that two W1701K pods will arrive in the mail soon).

I hadn't realized that the new secondary pods are wireless only -- no ethernet backhaul. So I guess that explains why so many people have complained about the wifi upgrade.

Speedtest.net reported 2117Mbps down and 1072Mbps up with a 2.5g ethernet connection. Wireless is currently anywhere from 250 to 950Mbps (Macbook can't handle 802.11be) depending on where I am, so I'm eagerly awaiting the day when I run some cat6 to my office and install Ubiquiti access points for the rest of the house.

The tech was unaware of the Q1000K admin login, and told me that it was no longer available for end users; that I should use my own router if I wanted to have any control over the network. This of course is wrong, and there was indeed a login/password written on the device. Despite that, I'm adding a Unifi Cloud Gateway Fiber in preparation for the rest of my LAN changes. Hopefully Quantum's wifi 7 pod/s will work fine with that, until I can bring in the better APs.
