Venting Disappointment

Discussion

Hello fellow Palia players! Today I’ve come with some anxious feelings after my recent time playing because I accidentally took a spot at a hotpot table that someone had apparently reserved for their friend, but I had just joined the server and didn’t know. They weren’t unkind, but they did make some passive aggressive comments in the server chat that made me feel really bad (which is my own fault! my emotions are not another person’s problem.) and I promptly apologized, to which they said it’s been happening a lot lately, so they just needed to say something to me.

My only problem is that I’ve only been playing a few weeks and I honestly didn’t know that people commonly called dibs on hotspot tables, and I have been seeing a lot of people posting about frustration from rude people, which I totally empathize with and that’s a valid frustration and I do believe politely telling someone that what they’re doing is against the community etiquette. However, I hope we can still give people the benefit of the doubt before being passive aggressive and be polite first.

Maybe I’m just shell shocked because I haven’t had many experiences like this, but lately I think the rude players might have gotten to me too! I’m sorry if this post is too wordy and harsh, I really just wanted to vent some of my feelings. At the end of the day, I’m probably just having a disproportionate reaction because I get so anxious about being social and normally play single player games, so all of the co-op interactions are emotionally heightened for me if that makes sense lol. Thank you for reading and have a lovely day/evening!

(I apologize for the formatting, I like using reddit on mobile)
