Ball end unwinds and falls off?
Anybody have solutions for strings that end up breaking on that ball-ended area? I dont care if I have to solder or use clear nail polish I just need it to stop. My bigsby clone trem keeps snapping in this way where the string fails to hold tune, then I tune it up seemingly doing nothing, then snap and it falls right off. I dont care if a string change is tedious, I use coated strings and I want them to last for an entire year, dang it. I'm about to shell out for graphtech saddles and bridges. Its the only thing I know to truly work; even the nut sauce isnt enough. I KNOW I abuse my strings, but they need to keep up! Its the modern age and I dont have time for broken premium strings. Or am I just incredibly unlucky and I keep buying old ass strings? I've checked for burrs and nothing, q tip tests pass easily. What gives??
