AITAH for expressing to my significant other that it would have been nice to get a present or flowers for my graduation.
I (27 F) graduated from nursing school last week. My family came and made me feel so special and spoiled with flowers and sweet cards that had so much meaning written in them. My significant other (31 M) and I were at my graduation early- we passed a lei stand and I had pointed at it and said something brief about getting one - he brushed it off and said no. When we (the graduates) were getting settled in our seats my partner calls me to tell me to come here- it was a lei he went back for and got me which was a nice gesture. Although I missed pictures with my cohort for it. Anyways I guess I just wish he made me feel more special about my achievements. I even said it would have been nice to just get a letter/card. He’s done that before I love when I expresses his feelings about us in a letter. He says he’s been paying the rent and he can buy me anything so that should justify him not getting me flowers or anything. He also tried to say my family made me feel special so why would he be expected to get me something at the same time. Then tries to say I don’t like flowers so why would he get anything. THEN he says why would this be the only time he can get me something why can’t he get something later. Anyways, Even if it was a small bouquet of tulips just some effort that doesn’t feel last minute. I don’t want to seem ungrateful sorry for the rant.
