Suggestions for Rose Petal T

Does anyone have suggestions for brewing w rose petals? I read it has a TON of vitamin C and I've tried mixing it w/ other things - but when I brew it, it's so so so sour. A lot of the recipes I see online have milk/ cream in them which I'm trying to avoid. I also tried w/ some lavender and it smelled good but it tasted soapy to me :(
