Do I have a leg to stand on?

Landlord Tenant Housing

We rented a house in October 2024. It was advertised to have 1,719 of habitable living space. It was 3 floors. An unfinished basement and a 1st and 2nd floor. The listing also stated tenants are to provide window AC as there is no central air

The 2 AC units we have in our kids bedrooms can’t run at the same time or else it flips the breaker and shuts the power down to those 2 rooms.

On top of that, our basement (that we planned to use as a home office and 2nd living space) is leaking and can’t even be used for storage. So we’ve had to turn our dining room into our office.

With the AC window unit issue I did some digging, and apparently the city auditor doesn’t even say the basement is habitable, so it shouldn’t have been advertised that way. On top of that, we were unaware of the leaking when we signed the lease so we’re out of a major living space we were planning on using.

And to make matters worse, we have a 2 year old and 8 month old and our upstairs is 86 degrees.

Am I screwed or do I have any sort of control here?
