Period all of a sudden became lighter….

Period

Hello, so for the last few months since about the end of January, my period has been weird?

So just some background I just turned 30 in April, my periods have been normal all my life of having it, I’ve never spotted in between periods or missed one. They’re pretty regular and from what I’ve recorded over the last year my cycles tend to last anywhere from 25 to 37 day, the latter only happening once. On average I would say my cycle is about 27 to 29 days.

So, starting from January, my period came about a week late, it should have started the last week. I had taken a pregnancy test every day after it was supposed to come but they came up negative. When it did finally start, the first week of February, it was off but not so much that it caused me any concern, I had some sharp pain but that was about it. Come March, my period starts again with a side of sharp pain in what I would guess would be my ovary or kidney or that general area on my right side. It lasted the entire time I bled. (Also, I failed to mention after writing all this that my bleeding last typically about 4 to 5 days) But I just figured it must have been really bad cramps. April rolls around and this time, I noticed a change in my flow, it was lighter than usual, the amount of clots I got were also very low, but I didn’t really think much of it, I had no sharp pain and lasted about 4 days. Now, come May……….. my “period” was basically spotting and lasted about 3 days. I first noticed blood while at work around noon, so I put on a pad. By the time I got home around 6 at night, I got ready to jump in the shower and noticed my pad barely had any blood, like a little drop, but when I wiped there was a lot more just pooled at the opening. There wasn’t enough for it flow to the pad, blood clots were basically nonexistent, with maybe one like stringy, film like clot or lining by the end of the bleeding.

It is now June, I had a gyno appt on the 13th and discussed possible reasons for my light period. I had brought up how I believe I have PCOS because of excessive facial hair growth, thinning of hair and insulin resistance. I sadly didn’t get to discuss everything with her that day because that same morning I had to put my cat down and by the time my appt came my mind was else where. She ordered blood work for me, checking for STI/HIV, all came back negative, thank the Heavenly Father! She had order test for things like FSH, TSH, prolactin, DHEA, estradiol and testosterone. They all came back normal. I’m waiting for my Pap results but that’s it. To say I’m a little perplexed would be an understatement, even the nurse who was gathering all my info seemed a bit perplexed as well. In my after care notes my gyno said she suspect, anovulation.

I forgot to mention but, I also explained to her that I was trying to lose weight and she told me that losing weight can cause changes to your period and I completely understand that but I’m not losing weight drastically and just last November I was working out more than I am now and losing more weight and there were no changes in my period then.

I think I covered everything.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Was it PCOS related or was it something else?

I’m praying that things will be resolved and I can get an answer as to why this is happening.
