GMAT FE advice to get from 615 to target score of 705 in 2 months

General Question :snoo_thoughtful:

I took the GMAT Focus Edition on February 12, 2025, and scored 615 (QR: 88, VR: 82, DI: 71).
The main issue I faced during the exam was time management, especially in the Data Insights (DI) section. I was unable to attempt the last 3–4 questions due to running out of time.

Data Insights (DI) Score:

I struggled with pacing—spending too much time on the initial DI questions and having very little left toward the end.

Verbal Reasoning (VR) Score:

A similar pattern occurred in Verbal. I started off well but mismanaged time and had to hurry in the questions near the end.

I was shocked and frustrated after the exam because my mock scores consistently ranged between 655–675. I had taken the official mocks thrice, along with three tests from GMAT Club and two from Experts’ Global.

I scheduled a second attempt three weeks later, but unfortunately, the result was nearly the same:

  • Score: 625 (QR: 89, VR: 81, DI: 72)
  • I repeated the same mistake—starting strong in DI but fading out by the end.
  • The Verbal result followed a similar pattern.

After this, I couldn’t continue studying or planning further due to personal and professional commitments.

My Current Situation:

  • I’m currently working in the IT sector as a Senior Developer with 5 years of experience.
  • My top priority is getting into ISB for the April 2026 intake, targeting Round 1, with the deadline on September 14, 2025.
  • Before my first GMAT attempt, I studied for 30–45 days.
  • I had also prepared for CAT 2024 for 2 months, scoring 98.57 percentile, so I’m confident about my Quantitative ability.

My Goal:

I want to improve my score to 705+ in 2 months, aiming for:

  • DI: 80+
  • VR: 85–86

My mock test scores fluctuated between 655–675.

This is from the Gmat Club Mock test.

My Exam Order in GMAT was:

  • First attempt: VR → DI → QR
  • Second attempt: DI → VR → QR

I need strategic advice on what changes I should make in my preparation to:

  • Fix the time management issues
  • Break through the 685 score plateau
  • Finally reach the 700+ zone

I also feel like I’ve been stuck in a mental block and would appreciate help overcoming it.
