Wish there was more 2x options/carbon vs aluminum

Tomorrow I may get a carbon diverge sport as I want a bike with hydraulic brakes, tubeless and 2x. Id prefer aluminum as Im nervous that the carbon would be more fragile if i i dropped tools on it or tipped over on rocks bike packing. All the aluminum options are 1x with the exception of the cheapest with mechanical brakes. If I got the carbon version would i have to baby it or worry about different kinds of damage that I wouldn't with aluminum? Experience would be appreciated
