Future of Solar - Capacity Per Panel

What are the outlooks for getting more capacity per panel? Are there any new techniques in the immediate future? Is the cutting of the rebates/tariff uncertainty going to kill the solar industry here?

As much as I wanted to, my roof is a bit too gables for solar.

I’ve been told I can put about 63% of my usage on my house using in 6-7 arrays with a total of 23 panels with 12.1 kWh for $33k. I don’t think the cost is too bad, while the number of arrays and not reaching 100% is frustrating. I’m in MN so pretty good return to grid program with Xcel. I’d be paying $80 extra to carry a loan and still pay for what I needed.
