Bauer's Learn to Save set

My kid is wanting to try goal, he's 8 and I want to make sure he actually enjoys the position and doesn't just want to play it because I did. Has anyone had any experience with their kids learning on the quick change goalie pads from Bauer? It's a good value but only if it's gonna be fun to play around on, I don't want him to be miserable lol
I know most people say there's no reason to focus on a position this early but he's constantly trying to get in front of the net with his player gear and I'd rather him have the option to do both.
