I'm trying to add a little color to a dress I already have (dw I've already sewn up the side slits to just above the knee). It's the wedding of a coworker who sees me every day and would probably think it weird if I showed up in pastels or something, but she's also made comments about not liking when people wear all black to a wedding. The jacket is at a secondhand shop so if this is a good look I want to buy it ASAP, but I have time to look for something else so I'm asking more about the general dinner jacket/column dress/platform flat sillhouette.

My other question is -- I've never been to a formal wedding and I'm not super familiar with wedding culture in general. I'm avoiding the wedding colors, but one of the bride's major accessories is going to be a really similar blush pink to the jacket and shoes here. I can't pretend it's a coincidence because I'm making that accessory. Is that weird?
