Hub motors are better than Belt motors by far !
Hey guys! Just wanted to share my opinion on hub vs belt motors.
Six months ago, I was really hesitating between going for hub or belt motors on my Tynee 3. In the end, I chose the Tynee 3 Max because of the battery capacity (this version only comes with belt motors).
Result: I broke 5 belts in just 250 km.
In Canada, and especially in Montreal, there's a lot of gravel and small stones that get stuck in the belts, and they break super fast.
So I ended up buying 2 Tynee 3 hub motors with 1 rear truck, mounted them on my board, and honestly—it’s so much better!
There’s no loss of speed, maybe slightly less power uphill but nothing major.
Braking feels better, range seems a bit improved, and best of all: no belts to replace!
So yeah, if like me you use your board mainly for commuting, go for hub motors—all upside, no downside!
