Flying with my Martin D10

Hello all! Sorry if this has been asked a billion times, but I have a flight coming up with Lufthansa Airlines and I was planning on bringing my dreadnought in a reunion blues sturdy gig bag that I recently purchased. It’s pretty well padded, but it’s way bigger than I thought it would be. Anyways, I’m having second thoughts about it as it might have to be gate checked due to its size. It wouldn’t be an issue at all if I could just carry it on, which makes me wonder if I should opt for a smaller gig bag that shouldn’t have any issues getting on with me (still scary). Anyone have experience gate checking with a reunion blues bag? Or carrying on? Thanks!
