Kava tourism
Is this a thing? I have the time and maybe the means to travel to South Pacific (certainly to Polynesia, i.e. Hawaii) and spend 3-4 weeks. Anyone else considered or researched doing so? Of course, it's not just the lower price and increased availability of kava. It's airfares, hotels and eating out. Plus whatever else is going on that makes those islands worthwhile destinations (for investment, tourism, academia or whatever). I am starting my reading to see where the sweet spot is (Vanuatu vs. Fiji vs. Solomon Islands vs. Tonga vs. Hawai) in all factors. Perhaps places further afield from Western Canada, such as Melanesia, don't make financial sense unless one goes for three months. Not impossible but I'll have to cone up with another reason or two to go. Returning with personal.luggage of 10-20 kilos of kava (or posting it) doesn't quite make sense at first glance.
