Periods?
Hey folks!
I have a question. I was diagnosed with PCOS about six years ago, and for the past five years I've not had a non-induced period. I take Provera for 10 days and bam. Three or four days later I bleed like a stuck hog. I can't do hormonal birth control for many reasons, so this is the best course of action for me to prevent uterine cancer. I do it every three months and although it's fairly miserable, it works for me.
I had a copper IUD (well, 2) for about 14 years. In February, I had a salpingectomy (tubes removed) in addition to the removal of my IUD. For the past two months, I've suddenly started having periods. Nothing like they were before.
I'm 34 years old, childless by choice, I have the same sex partner. I had high risk HPV years ago but my last pap came back negative for everything (didn't realize HPV could just go away but apparently it did.) So what gives? Have any of y'all just regained your menstrual super powers? Having my tubes and a copper IUD taken out shouldn't do anything to my hormones. And PCOS doesn't just cure itself.
I'm curious about your experiences.
