Can’t link BHVR account to Steam

I’ve checked the FAQ, but I think my situation is a little specific so I might a little direction here. I had a previous account that I no longer have access to. I believe it was deleted cause I thought I didn’t need it anymore and recently created a new one (like a month ago) however, when I try to link my steam to BHVR it says someone else already has access to that spot (my old account that I can’t access) is there something I’m missing to unlink something like that or do I just send something off to BHVR for assistance?
