Having to add a whole paragraph to make sure readers don’t start shipping them 😭 (my fanfiction)

In my fanfic I had to add a whole paragraph to show that Bristlepaw loves Riversplash in a MOTHER-DAUGHTER way, because this fandom loves to ship same-sex and age-gap besties 😔

“Riversplash purred, tipping her head and gazing at Bristlepaw with a motherly gleam in her eyes. “Your presence always lifts others’ moods,” she whispered, sitting back. Bristlepaw stared at Riversplash, love brewing in her chest as if Riversplash had borne her. She felt a fiery affection kindling in her body, the same feeling she felt when she looked at Brightnight.”
