Can I transfer my BC Novice license (<12 months) to an Ontario G2?

I have a BC Novice license that I’ve held for less than 12 months. I looked on the official Ontario site, and it clearly says they don’t exchange novice licenses from other provinces. But when I checked Reddit and other forums, I keep seeing posts where people say they transferred their BC Novice to an Ontario G2 easily, no questions asked.

All those posts are from OPs who successfully did the exchange despite what the Ontario site says.

Has anyone here actually done this in person recently? Or have any real experience with transferring a BC Novice license to Ontario’s G2?

I’m hoping to avoid the usual generic “check the official site” or “you can’t do it” answers — I’m looking for firsthand, practical advice or stories.
