Valentine... (rant post i guess)
Before I start this little ramble session, I'm a fairly new player to online. I started around 5 days ago after I got 100% on Story Mode. As of this post I am Rank 19.
This all starts out with me riding through valentine. I went to the gunsmith, bought some bullets, and then left. I mount my horse. All seems well, when some RAPSCALLION coming from the alley in between the Sheriff's office with a Repeater Carbine aims it at me. He gets mad close. I just look at him. I don't say anything, even though he probably is. I'm in an Xbox party, so I didn't even bother to go into gamechat to say anything.
The man then proceeds to throw me onto the ground. I get up, surprised I'm not hogtied. I draw my Schofield to try and scare him. He doesn't surrender and starts shooting at me. I then proceed to put two shots into him. He runs promptly to the alley mentioned before. I stop shooting, thinking he's going to not fuck around and find out. But, lo and behold... he tries lassoing me from at some ludicrous distance. It obviously doesn't work and I lay him out on the floor with one final shot.
I then holster. My heart sinks after. I see a white arabian racing down the road I stand on. I belived it was one of his posse. But... through the grace of God, he was simply passing by. I then immediately book it towards my horse and get the hell out of dodge.
The more I think back on this, the more I'm surprised I wasn't griefed. Valentine, from what I hear, is full of assholes online. And that's why I'm probably going to go back more often just to test the waters a bit more.
In all truth and honesty, I have never seen such sad individuals. It's like walking into a Walmart: it's enjoyable to see the stupid things there until you are on the receiving end. I honestly feel like Valentine in RDR Online has two sides: Peaceful, chill, and over all a muddy vibe of a town. The second side? O-Block in Chicago. Everytime you go there, it's like someone ate one of Von's dreads and decides to just shoot the place up for absolutely no reason.
At the end of the day, it's entertaining, but when the bullets start coming towards you, it's on.
