How to manage alcohol at wedding
Hello everyone!
My fiancé and I are starting to think about wedding planning, and one of the things we know we have to figure out is alcohol. It seems like the general consensus on this sub is that dry weddings are boring AF and no one will dance on the dance floor (which as a previous dancer this is a nightmare to imagine), so we know we should to have some sort of alcohol available. My concern is guests getting so drunk that they end up sick and/or driving home under the influence. The last wedding i went to, one of my friends who was a bridesmaid got so drunk that she ended up vomiting in the bathroom and the bride had to go and help take of her (Until i stepped in and told the bride to go spend time with her husband while i took care of her). The bride and groom had a cash bar for hard liquor, but the bridal party was also drinking shooters they brought, which i think compounded the issue. I would really prefer to not have the same scenario at my wedding with my wedding party or guests.
I'm looking for advice on how to manage alcohol at the wedding to make it enjoyable enough for everyone to want to dance and let loose while also not ending up with people puking in the bathroom or leaving the venue without a safe ride home. Should we only have wine and beer? Do a ticket system? Only wine on the tables with dinner? Any suggestions are appreciated!
