Professor says they must assign me an F grade.
I read all of the policies on late withdrawal from Kelley and I am not understanding it at all. So I requested a withdrawal from a course about a week or 2 after the automatic W deadline at Kelley for a good reason that I’d like to keep private.
I had an A- in the class at the time. The Professor assigned me an F grade for the course because they stated that they are unable to give me a W for the course because I am failing the course according to Kelley policy.
Even though I had an A- and was on track to get an A, the professor added in the Final Exam grade and Final Project grade to the calculation (neither of which were due or had even been assigned mentioned yet) when making this calculation.
Due to these “zero’s” in the course my grade went from an A- to a 57%, therefore an F & ineligible for a W grade. Is this really how Kelley withdrawal works? I understand that instructors have discretion in assigning the grade that they see fit, but the reasoning here doesn’t make sense.
