opinions on remarriage

got downvoted here for what i thought wouldnt be a controversial opinion which was that if you've been married, regardless of if its been anulled or not, you shouldnt get remarried. id hold this especially true for if you have children already. wanted to hear some actual discussion on this.

for my experience: my parents got divorced and then both went through remarriages, one for an annulment first (a long and emotional process btw), and it was a terrible thing to see my parents dating other people, and then remarrying. i purposefully didnt attend either ceremony. instinctively it felt very wrong to me and still does. i have no big problem with the people they remarried, moreso an issue with the fact they divorced and re-dated at all (especially considering theyre no longer able to have children)
