22-minute TV show episodes are better than 45-minute episodes
A 22-minute episode is easy to watch. For one, there’s a lot of times in the day where I have 20 minutes to sit down and watch something, there’s a lot less where I have 45 minutes. It also allows for more twists and cliffhangers at the ends of episodes, and ensures storylines don’t drag on too long. They’re also more addicting: I can easily watch 4 episodes of a 22-minute show and have to restrain myself from watching more, but after a 45-minute episode I’m totally done.
A 45-minute episode is just so long, and usually the storyline would be better broken up into multiple episodes or condensed into a shorter episode. It’s just too much filling for one episode, and it lags on, becoming not fun to watch. By the end of the episode, it feels like not much has really happened considering how long it is. And don’t even get me started on hour+ episodes. That’s a movie. I’m watching a movie.
